Best Hand Wraps

The Best Boxing Hand Wraps

We talk a lot about the best boxing gloves on this site, but hand wraps are just as important. Thankfully, hand wraps tend to be cheap, so you shouldn’t have to spend too much time finding a good pair. Most are pretty standard and very affordable. Some are more advanced with an associated increase in price, but overall, they are all quite cheap. The following article is meant to summarize the most popular boxing hand wraps available.

Everlast 4455-3 Hand Wraps (3 pack)$$

Everlast 4455-3 3pk Hand WrapsThese are probably the most standard boxing hand wraps you can find. The main advantage here is that you get three pairs. Measuring 108″ each (for each hand), these are the most common size hand wraps. For those with big wrists or who prefer more wrapping, there’s a chance they may be too short. In this case, we recommend finding a pair at 180″, which is now becoming more common.

Everlast Professional Hand Wraps$

Everlast Professional Hand WrapsAddressing the previous point, if you think 108″ might be a little too short, the Everlast Professional Hand Wraps are 180″, which should be good for most. Additionally, there many different colors to choose from. With a 55% nylon/45% polyester blend, these hand wraps are comfortable and machine washable.

TITLE Boxing Mexican Style Hand Wraps (Single Pair)$$

TITLE Boxing Mexican Style Hand Wraps“Mexican style” simply means they are longer hand wraps that measure in at 180″. In this case, we agree that it makes sense to pay more for longer wraps, as more material is used. However, compared to the Everlast Professional Hand Wraps, there isn’t really any difference, these ones are usually just a couple bucks more expensive. So unless you have had lots of bad luck with Everlast products, our recommendation is to simply go with whatever is cheaper.

Meister Adult 180″ MMA and Boxing Hand Wraps (3 Pack)$

Meister Adult 180" MMA and Boxing Hand WrapsAs stated in the product title, these hand wraps are 180″ long. The brand is unfamiliar to many, but they do make other boxing products, for example the gloves in our pink boxing gloves section. There is good value here as you get three pairs (white, black, and red), and they are a pretty standard material (slightly stretchy cotton). They are a little more thin than the Everlast hand wraps, but they are still quite strong, especially the velcro. We recommend these just as much as the Everlast 3 pack, but depending on your preferences, the thin material may be a good or bad thing (I personally like it).

Everlast EverGel Hand Wraps$$$

Everlast EverGel Hand WrapsIf you’re looking to really switch it up, these are definitely a change from your standard hand wraps. These hand wraps can often be more convenient, as you don’t have to spend as much time putting them on at the beginning of your workout. Similar to other standard hand wraps, they are also machine washable.

The EverGel lining is found over the knuckles, providing optimal protection. Elastic straps throughout ensure a snug and anatomical fit and the neoprene construction provides an additional level of comfort.

To be clear, these are not meant to replace your boxing gloves. They are simply another style of hand wraps, and therefore should be worn with gloves if performing any bag work (and especially sparring!!!). They should also feel very snug and provide some form of wrist support and protection for your hands.

Overall, these are pretty good hand wraps. If you’re gloves fit rather tight on your hands already, it may not be worth the risk, as the EverGel lining tends to take up a little more room than conventional hand wraps. There are some poor customer reviews out there, but most are a case of people not understanding that these aren’t a substitute for boxing gloves. Otherwise, these are solid hand wraps that are more convenient than the standard, albeit at a slightly higher cost.
